As the story goes, Becky Schroeder and Laird Rixford were in a bar at a conference talking about insurance stuff. People overhearing their conversation commented about how entertaining it was, and thus, the Insurance Happy Hour podcast was born.

Staff Highlight

Howard Simkin is out SE Sales Manager at Insurance Journal. Five cool things about him:

1.	I love watching and playing any sport that has a defense. (Think basketball and hockey, not bowling.)

2.	I really enjoy being a father to my 13 year old son Zach. We have become avid mountain bikers and it is great having a hobby we can participate in together on a weekly basis.

3.	I have got to give thanks to my parents for instilling an appreciation and joy for music.

4.	I have played tuba, upright bass and other instruments over the years, but guitar has been a lifelong passion.

5.	I'm looking forward to camping and other outdoor adventures along with a renewed focus on health, fitness and fun this year.
